The urology providers at Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC, specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of male and female urinary tract and male reproductive organs for patients of all ages. Urologic organs include the kidneys, adrenal glands, bladder, ureters, urethra, testes, epididymis and prostate. Patients may have bladder or prostate cancer, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and other genitourinary disorders as well as need treatments for incontinence. Kidney Stones

A kidney stone is a solid mass made up of tiny crystals. One or more stones can be in the kidney or ureter at the same time.

Prostate Issues

All men are at risk for prostate issues. Common prostate problems include Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) or Enlarged Prostate, Prostate Cancer and Prostatitis – the infection or inflammation of the prostate.

Among the Southland’s first Greenlight Laser Therapy Centers of Excellence

Led by Dr. James Siegert, Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC, was among the first in Chicago Center of Excellence designation for the Greenlight Laser Therapy treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This minimally-invasive outpatient procedure employs laser technology to remove overgrown prostate tissue and relieve enlarge prostate symptoms, such as frequent urination, weak urine flow, urgency and incomplete bladder emptying. Although results may vary depending on the patient’s medical history and health condition, this procedure can rapidly restore natural urine flow – often within 24 hours of the procedure. When compared with traditional surgery, GreenLight Laser Therapy patients have a shorter hospital stays – more than 90% go home the same day – shorter catheterization times, less bleeding and faster recoveries.

Urinary Incontinence

Urinary (or bladder) incontinence happens when you are not able to keep urine from leaking out of your urethra, the tube that carries urine out of your body from your bladder. You may leak urine from time to time. Or, you may not be able to hold any urine.

Urologic Cancer

Urologic cancers include prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancers.
